Measurement Instructions

Proper information is key to a proper fitted tuxedo rental, and reserving your correct sizes. It can also save you a lot of time when you pick your tuxedo up.

Be sure that the measureing tape is always pulled taught. We will build ease into the fit.

Height/Weight

These measurements are very important for sizing and should be accurate. Height and weight have a lot to do with sizing and help us to have a mental picture of the person that we will be fitting.

Coat Size (Chest Measurements)

This is the coat size that the individual wears. To measure the chest have the person raise their arms so that you may wrap the tape over the broadest part of the chest. The customer then must lower is arms to a relaxed position. Pull the tape taught and up wards as topass over his shoulder blades.

Coat Insleeve (Sleeve Length of Jacket)

Place the proper sized jacket on the individual and measure the inside seam, starting at the coat underarm, to the break in the wrist.

The optimum length of jacket will leeve a 1/4" to 1/2" shirt sleeve showing.

Typically a Short coat is 15.5"

Typically a Regular coat is 16.5"

Typically a Tall coat is 17.5"

Waist

The waist measurement on a formal pant is to be taken just above the hips, which is an inch below the naval. Wrap the tape snuggle around this point and that is your waist measurement.

Take note that your Outseam (trouser length) measureemnt will be taken from where you determine your waist point is)

Seat

The seat measurement is taken from the largest point at the hips. This is usually 6 - 7" below the waist.

Please be sure to remove your wallet.

Trouser Outseam

Measure from the top of the waistband to the floor without shoes on.

Neck Size

Measure neck at the base where the collar of the shirt will be buttoned. Hold tape very taught when taking measurement.

Shirt Measurements

Sleeve length
